INSURANCE IS AVAILABLE FOR ALL PROVINCES WITH THE EXCEPTION OF QUEBEC, NEWFOUNDLAND AND LABRADOR.*

For pennies/month everyone can afford it!
To arrange similar coverage for yourself as an umbrella policy to your existing homeowners policy would cost
$750.00-$800.00/person or more.

ATTENDING EVENTS IN THE USA
You are covered by our policy to attend events in provinces other than your own and to attend events in the USA.

PROOF OF INSURANCE - DO YOU GO IN PARADES OR RENT A HALL/ROOM FOR YOUR EVENT?
Many chapters are discovering that to enter parades or to rent halls for events/meetings etc. or to host an event on city property or streets they are now being asked for proof of insurance. If you rent a hall, seniors hall, community center, you will need proof of insurance to hold your meeting or event. Check the small print and be very careful before signing any documents or rental agreement.

Please contact your own lawyer and/or insurance agent for their advice and show them a copy of the policy coverage as posted.

RECOMMENDATION TO CHAPTER QUEEN MOTHERS:
There have been several lawsuits brought against Queen Mothers and/or members of their chapters, in both the USA and Canada. Unfortunately, accidents do happen and it might be wise to be protected should a member or members be injured while participating in a chapter event or on an outting or in a members automobile involved in an accident.

You are advised to check your homeowner and auto insurance policies to see if you are covered. Do you also have an umbrella policy on top of your homeowners insurance on yourself??? Lawyers and Insurance agents are suggesting an umbrella policy or a business liability policy. We are now able to offer chapters a policy to cover their members.

Posted 02/08/2007 by the RHS:     The RHS's position on chapter and member insurance is that you as a member or queen should be insured up to the point that makes you feel comfortable. Of course, if you are hosting a large event, we recommend that you obtain insurance for the event. Considering the financial ramifications of a cancelled event, it would be wise to protect yourself. (This has caused problems for several US Queens)

It is recommended that Queen Mothers incorporate the cost of the insurance into their annual dues so that there is no issue as to whether members want the insurance or not. If you, the Queen Mother feel it imperative for your own piece of mind, then this is usually the easiest way to handle the "insurance issue". As many have said: "Why would a Queen Mother want someone in her chapter who doesn't want her to have peace of mind or to know she and her chapter members are protected??"
