ATTENTION CHAPTERS
OF THE RED HAT SOCIETY
The insurance agent will be sending a letter shortly to advise the feasibility
of future coverage for RHS chapters. As all members of the chapter must be supporting members
to participate, it is unknown if there are enough to put togther a policy. Please wait to receive the letter
for futher news. If anyone is interested in taking on the task of collecting names, handling correspondence and phone calls,
please contact Lynda or Capri insurance.
PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS
NOT
RED HAT SOCIETY INSURANCE
The RHS has nothing
to do with any insurance program for their chapters. It has always been an independent program offered to try
to provide protection of, and peace of mind, to Canadian chapters of the RHS. This insurance program was begun
after an incident involving several members of a chapter who were sued by a member of their chapter. Lynda, wanting to
ensure protection for chapters in Canada, consulted experts, hired a lawyer, researched insurance agencies and rates,
and was able to offer an inexpensive policy to red hatters, affording them peace of mind and and an added level of protection.
If your chapter members are supporting members of the
RHS and also 2010 CJCS members, you will only be covered under the policy which you have paid for coverage with.
You may wish to purchase insurance for both organizations if you belong to both.
Existing policies expire March
14, 2010
Your policy is still valid!
Notices were emailed to all chapters
enrolled in the 2009 program, in September and November 2009.
Registrations for insurance for 2010
are due January 10th
with
full payment.
