Not sure if insurance is necessary or "ridiculous"???
Please contact your own lawyer and/or insurance agent for their advice and show them a copy of the policy coverage as posted.

Some chapters are discovering that to enter parades and other events, they are now being asked for proof of insurance.

What some chapters are saying:

" I personally did some research on this last year, spoke with a lawyer and my insurance co. and was told it would cost between $400 and $600 so this $10 per person policy is super. You have worked very hard on this insurance and I know many chapters who are extremely pleased this is in place. Thank you.”

"My insurance agent told me that similar coverage on my homeowners policy would cost me an additional $800 to add this coverage to our existing coverage."

CAA (Canadian Automobile Association) stated:  "Good policy and we recommend that you go with the existing insurers". (They feel that you are better to be insured as part of the "larger group" rather than a small group with just a few chapters.)

"We just came back from seeing our lawyer.  I had previously emailed him all the information that you sent, plus I went on the website and sent him more details on the insurance program.  After our meeting with  ----  he gave us the advice to go for it (the insurance) as the package is a good one in his estimation, plus the cost is so reasonable for each member. "

"I had heard from you previously regarding insurance, but wasn’t really interested until my husband told me that we couldn’t afford not to get it."

"I had my home insurance agent check the particulars I received. He feels it is very good which just confirmed what I had considered."

"I gave a copy of this to my insurance agent who contacted Aviva. I was told that they could offer the same coverage but couldn't come close to this price."
